Joachim Georg Kroll the Duisburg Man-Eater was a german serial killer. As a child he only completed school up to grade 3 and wet the bed. After his mother’s death in 1955, on the 8th of February Kroll claimed his first victim, Irmgard Strehl a 19 year old girl. He raped and stabbed her to death, and then dumped her disemboweled body in a barn. He went on to kill 13 more confirmed victims, all of them girls ranging from the age of 4 to 61. All had been raped before and after they were killed, stabbed and/or stangled, one had been drowned. Some had slices of flesh removed from their buttocks which he would eat later apparently to save on grocery bills. Kroll had only one male victim, who he attacked as he sat in a car in lover’s lane with his girlfriend who survived.
A neighbour asked if Kroll knew what was blocking the pipes to which he replied “Guts”. This prompted police to visit Kroll’s apartment where they discovered parts of a four year old girls body in the fridge, entrails in the pipes, and her hand boiling in a pan on the stove. He admitted to 14 murders and one attempted murder and recieved 9 life sentences. In custody, he believed that he would recieve an operation to cure him and would then be released from prison. Instead he died in prison of a heart attack on the 1st of July 1991.
